Are you staying in Puerto Jimenez and finding that it doesn't quite offer the tropical experience you were hoping for on your visit to the Osa Peninsula? No worries, because Mama Jackie offers day passes to Chosa Manglar Nature Retreat for morning, afternoon, full day, and even night visits, allowing you to relax and immerse yourself in the local flora and fauna. Spanning over 4 acres of land bordering the creek, ponds, mangrove, pasture, and forest, our retreat is home to a plethora of Osa wildlife.

We provide an outdoor garden area with picnic tables, offering fantastic opportunities to observe local flora and fauna. The garden is equipped with a 300 MB Fiber Optic WIFI connection, a small internal trail, and several ponds for relaxation amidst the tropical setting. During your visit, you can park your car for free and even rent a locker for your personal belongings if desired.

Our property boasts a diverse range of wildlife, including Scarlet Macaws, various types of toucans, four species of monkeys, kinkajous, coatis, raccoons, armadillos, anteaters, squirrels, hawks, sloths, ocelots, crabs, butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies, frogs, snakes, lizards, crocodiles, geckos, and iguanas. We are recognized as a birding hotspot by e-bird, with 90 species recorded to date.

You can also have a picnic on-site by visiting the supermarket right across the street to purchase your goodies, set up your table, and enjoy the surroundings. Alternatively, you can order lunch from one of the local restaurants that offer service in our garden. We guarantee that lunch outdoors in the gardens can be a delightful way to spend a few hours.

Afternoons anytime between 1 pm and 5 pm = $6

Full-Day, 8 am to 6 pm = $10

Night Pass, 6 pm to 10 pm = $8

Full Day & Night Pass. 8 am to 10 pm $15

Quiet Time = 12 pm to 1 pm, only Full-Day Guests are permitted during Quiet Time. NO EXCEPTIONS.
